Planning
Meets each month to view and consider Planning Applications in the area. The Councillors can make comments to applications drawing on their experience to best represent the parish’s interests in an objective manner.
Environmental issues are discussed as well as Enforcements which apply when planning permission has not been sought. The Councillors also comment on licensing applications and on applications to fell or prune trees which have tree preservation orders.
Other responsibilities include rural housing, street lights, public rights of way, highways and public transport.
Each Committee has its own Terms of Reference – which are agreed annually by Council.
N.B. - The Parish Council can not determine a planning application, this is carried out by District Councillors or sometimes by District Officers with delegated powers.
However, the Parish Council is invited to comment on applications within their boundary and their local knowledge can sway a decision.
Please contact the Clerk if you have any comments about an open planning application.
